Wage Theft Public Awareness Campaign

"Wage Theft Is A Crime" is a statewide public awareness campaign launched in 2014 by the California Department of Industrial Relations and its Labor Commissioner's Office. Strategically targeting the most underserved population of low-wage workers, the campaign addresses:

Funding for this outreach campaign is mandated by the legislature and does not come from the state's general fund. Under California Labor Code section 2698, a portion of money received from lawsuits filed due to violations of the state's labor laws is earmarked for educating employers and employees about their rights and responsibilities.
